There is extra legal protection for people classed as night workers, ie; between the hours of 11pm and 6am. As there are health risks linked with night work employers must offer employees a free health assessment before they start working at night and on a regular basis after that. Generally this is done once a year, but employers could offer a health assessment more frequently. Employers are advised to get help from a suitably qualified health professional when devising and assessing the health assessments.
